Spiral auger conveyor’s another name for screw conveyor. The screw conveyor is a kind of conveying equipment that relies on the motor to drive and rotate the screw to push the material to achieve the purpose of conveying. Internal structure of spiral auger conveyor
The spiral auger conveyor is composed of driving device, intermediate bearing, screw shaft, screw machine body, screw blade, head section, middle section, tail section, feeding and discharging devices and other components.
1. Drive device
It consists of a motor and a reducer. The drive motor is suitable for 380V, 3-phase electricity, 50Hz, its protection grade is IP55 (outdoor type), and its insulation grade is F grade. It is composed of gear reducer, with large torque, low noise and no oil leakage.
2. Intermediate bearing
The intermediate bearing of the spiral auger conveyor is divided into a head bearing and an intermediate bearing.
Head bearing: Thrust bearing: Bear the axial force due to the resistance of the conveying material, and place it in front of the material.
Intermediate bearing: Split sliding bearing, used to support the screw shaft.
Shaft connection: The solid shaft is still used at the connection between the shaft and the shaft.
3. Screw shaft
The screw shaft adopts hollow design and is made of steel pipe, which has high strength, light weight and easy connection. Use a short length of solid shaft at the shaft-to-shaft connection and where the bearing is mounted. Extend the solid shaft into the hollow shaft at the connection, and use high-strength bolts to pass through the hollow shaft and the solid shaft in a mutually perpendicular direction to fix and connect the screw shaft.
4. Spiral blade
The helical blade is made of stainless steel material by casting through a special mold, so it has sufficient strength and rigidity, and the blade surface is smooth and burr-free, and it has a suitable rotation speed and is not easy to deform. Spiral auger conveyor blades can be divided into full blade type, belt blade type, paddle type, tooth type and so on. Carbon steel, stainless steel and manganese steel can be selected according to the material. Adopt shaftless helical blade.
5. Screw machine body
It is mainly composed of head section, middle section, tail section and other parts. A thrust bearing is installed in the head section to bear the axial force, and a bearing is installed in the middle section and the tail section to support the screw shaft.
Principle of spiral auger conveyor
When the screw shaft rotates, the material can only move forward along the groove bottom of the conveyor under the push of the blade due to the gravity of the material and the frictional force generated by the wall of the groove body. It is the same as the translational motion of the rotating screw.
