Introduction of Vertical Screw Feeder
Vertical screw feeder is used to move materials in the vertical direction, it is the most economical and space-saving solution for conveying powder or granular materials from the lower level to the higher level, the vertical height can reach 8 meters, usually used for limited space or needs Transport materials to higher-level applications such as grain elevators or food processing plants.
The vertical screw feeder consists of a horizontal feed screw and a vertical screw. The horizontal feed screw consists of a short pipe section, which is fed from a silo or hopper or fed by an upstream feeding device. Vertical section helical tubes usually consist of one long tube, connected to the outlet of the horizontal feed helix, a sloping outlet at the top, end flanges welded to each conveying pipe section, rotation in one or more sections screws, with couplingings at each end, base bearing assemblies with sliding bushings, and some intermediate hanger bearings (if required for the overall height of the conveyor), with integrated end bearing assemblies (where the screw hangs top) and a self-adjusting shaft-sealed top mounted drive unit is suitable for this application for transferring powder or granular material from low to high.
Types

Structure of Vertical Screw Feeder
Vertical screw feeder is composed of driving device (motor, reducer, coupling), screw, bearing, trough, feed port, discharge port and so on.
Driving device: Generally, there are two types of layout:
① Top drive: suitable for occasions with low conveying height and occupy a small area;
② Bottom drive, suitable for occasions with high conveying height, with large footprint.
Material inlet and outlet: The required inclination angle can be made according to the situation of the work site, and it can be connected and fixed with other supporting equipment.
The vertical screw feeder is a rotating screw blade that pushes the material for conveying by the screw conveyor. The low speed required for the vertical screw to push the material upward is called the critical speed. In the case of running and meeting the requirements of the conveying capacity, choosing a lower speed can reduce the wear of the material on the spiral blades and the casing, so as to improve its service life.
